In your write-up, you mention something about Emperor Aurangzeb going to Haj in 1677. I have read extensively about him and other Mughal rulers, but never come across anything about Aurangzeb going to Haj. Can you kindly give me the correct reference or elaborate.Thank you.

This is an excellent site that gives the history of Murshidabad in considerable detail. I had several questions about the Nawabs of Bengal and almost all of them were answered. Thank you for the work you have put into it. Technically, the site could be improved as the screen keeps on running up and down. (Also, I had great difficulty in posting my comment.) It was a pleasure to read about the pedigree of the Nawabs and it makes me feel like visiting Murshidabad next time I go to India. Thank you.
